2-year Anniversary 2025 | The regional network for forgiveness and reconciliation in the Arab worldThe Regional Network for Forgiveness and Reconciliation in the Arab World celebrates two years since its establishment in May 2023. It brought together 34 members from 22 organizations and experts specializing in reconciliation and peacebuilding from 10 Arab countries: Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen, and Sudan, with aspirations to expand its reach across the region.

The network continues to dedicate its efforts to strengthening reconciliation and peacebuilding in conflict-affected communities through knowledge exchange, sharing experiences, and capacity building. Over the past two years, members have worked on implementing impactful initiatives, supporting their communities, and making tangible contributions to peacebuilding. This celebration is an opportunity to recognize the efforts of all members and appreciate their achievements.

Key Achievements of the Network

Administrative Committee Meetings:
The administrative committee worked on activating the network’s committees and planning their future activities. It also sought to strengthen membership and ensure continuous coordination and collaboration among members.

Regular Network Meetings:
The network held five meetings, during which it discussed evolving situations and areas of intervention in affected countries, in addition to working on expanding its membership by including new members. These meetings contributed to enhancing cooperation and coordination among members.

Capacity Building:
The network organized eight capacity-building sessions on topics related to reconciliation and peacebuilding. These sessions facilitated the exchange of expertise among member countries, strengthened members’ skills in contributing to peacebuilding in their communities, and provided additional space to support women’s participation.

Collaboration:
Network members engaged in six collaborations with other entities working toward peacebuilding in the region, and cooperated on initiatives within their respective areas.

After two years since the establishment of the Network, we take pride in the achievements and partnerships realized. This journey would not have been possible without the dedication and perseverance of our members in promoting reconciliation and contributing to peacebuilding in their communities. We thank everyone for their efforts and look forward to further progress and collaboration in achieving peace in the years to come.
