Stand Up for Children in War- Report Release

The “Stand Up for Children in War” campaign, launched in September 2025 by Arigatou International and more than 30 global partners, including Salam Institute for Peace and Justice, aims to mobilize faith-based and civil society organizations to confront the escalating harm faced by children in armed conflict. Through a joint statement endorsed by UN agencies, religious leaders, and NGOs, the campaign calls for immediate ceasefires, protection of schools and hospitals, accountability for violations, and the establishment of safe zones for children’s voices. Furthermore, activities included high-level meetings in Geneva, global interfaith dialogues, and digital outreach that engaged thousands across continents. In this context, Salam Institute contributed as an official campaign partner, supporting the interfaith and peacebuilding dimensions by leveraging its expertise in dialogue, nonviolent action, and community engagement. Overall, the campaign underscores that safeguarding children is not only a legal obligation but also a shared moral responsibility rooted in diverse faith traditions.
