Forgiveness education is an integral part of peace education field, it can
include empathy, forgiveness, and self-regulation as part of the curriculum that reinforces civic education, and non-violence approaches to conflict resolution.
New research reveals valuable insights into forgiveness and reconciliation education in Muslim and Arab contexts, emphasizing their importance in fostering civic engagement and enhancing education. The study provides a brief review of literature on forgiveness and reconciliation, highlighting their interconnectedness within the Arab and Muslim communities. It identifies religious and cultural foundations that support forgiveness and reconciliation practices. The analysis of forgiveness stories collected from diverse Arab communities uncovers obstacles hindering the adoption of forgiveness and reconciliation initiatives. To address these challenges, the study proposes forgiveness education through storytelling as a framework for advancing peace-building in schools and educational spaces. Utilizing local stories as a means to explore conflicts, it aims to promote understanding and lasting harmony.
