Imams As Advocates For Democratic Change And Pluralism In Egypt

The Salam Institute for Peace and Justice is undertaking a series of five-day training of trainers workshops on pluralism, diversity, tolerance, conflict resolution and human rights for imams in Egypt. This program aims to develop local capacities of imams in playing an effective role as agents and advocates of democratic reform and change by disseminating these values through community programs. The vision of the Salam Institute is to develop an effective engagement strategy and intervention model with imams that can be replicated in other Muslim countries.
This project is generously supported by the National Endowment for Democracy.
